Oh Crikey!!

Well, this is complicated, but I'll attempt to try to explain it as best as possible.
Ever had one of them weeks where you don't know what week it actually is? if so, hello and welcome to my world.
I'll try and explain everything...
November last year, I got notice that I'd been picked for Jury Service, so I did the good deed and filed off back the necessary paperwork. I should've received a letter saying that the date I was due in was not the expected date of 3rd January - which I didn't get until a couple of weeks after that date and me killing myself on 3rd Jan, post-new-year and all that only to be told 'no Jury needed here until the middle of Jan'...ok, I can live with that. So, I contacted the courts and was told 'oops, sorry, we'll send you another letter with another date on it'... ok.. so that came, *eventually* and lo and behold, the new date was set at the 27th March - which I only just realised this morning, was on Monday this week.
Add onto the top of that the fact that I failed a Job Centre medical on the 27th Feb and the conclusion that hey, maybe I'm unfit to stand as Jury.
So, I emailed the Jury service people saying I was unfit. I got an email back saying 'ok, you're not doing Jury Service anymore' - so I made plans to be away the last weekend in March. ONLY to get a letter reminding me of Jury Service... which prompted me to email back that due to urgent (and they are) family commitments that week, I wouldn't be able to do Jury Service.. and hey, I'm *really* unfit to do it anyway.
Now it's Wednesday... the weekend away is secure as far as I'm aware and the Jury Service thing was assumed to have begun next week.. following this so far? no, neither am I, but I'm getting there... in a fashion...
So.. it all needs sorting one way or the other. Either way, I could be done for not turning up - but all things considered, I didn't fail the medical until the end of Feb!
I chose not to write a letter to the Jury Service people - they'd already been hideously slow to send me a letter with the change of date *anyway* and so I chose to email in the hopes it would all be a lot quicker - which, thankfully, it was.
It should be noted at this point that I'm somewhat challenged when it comes to days and dates. Normally, to remind myself of upcoming events, I write it all down on bits of paper and pin it to the wall at the side of the computer to remind me.
So as you can see... it's all pretty much confused and all over the place and by lunchtime today, should all be pretty much sorted one way or the other.
I know that won't be good enough for some and I expect to be hauled up over it - but if I am, not only will I demand a lawyer, I'll also point them in the direction of my inability to stand as a juror and the time it took for them to get the message through.

For now, further news will appear once I've got this horrendous situation sorted out.

[edit]
Ok, so it's still up in the air a little.. apparently, there's supposed to be some sort of 'ok, you're excused letter' in the post, but as I already mentioned, it seems the courts are slow with the post - and practically admitted to it!
But the upshot is, I wasn't listed for jury service and therefore, the weekend break to Hartlepool is ONNNNN!!!!!!!!! YIPPEEEE!
Naturally, there's going to be stuff in the post from the courts about all this - not least to say, some form of apology. I have done my damnedest to make sure this was as sorted out as need be, so any delay isn't my fault.

To add to other news, today, the postman knocked on the door 'can you sign this please?' wondering a) why I was signing and b) what was I signing to receive?
Well, wonder no more - seems after nearly 2 years, I am now the proud owner of an ECDL pass certificate! (er.. yay?)
So in all, not too bad a day, now the fun... just one day to turn this pit into a palace so we can go on our weekend break away!
It aint luck that I need, it's a duster, mop, binbag and the kind of skills one needs when one least expects them - such as for packing stuff to take with us and all that.
er... see you after the weekend.. I got a whole weekend of junkfood to eat!!!!!!! [/edit]

Grrr..................!!

Ok, I really am beginning to hate myself...
Not only is it bad enough watching Gordon Ramsay go off on one humongous swearing fit, but when you start watching episodes of '24' and then toddling off to beddybyes after eating a sumptuous piece of cheese on toast laced with a little marmite, it's another thing when your mind becomes embroiled in a dream where Jack Bauer decides to wander into Gordons kitchen unannounced.. people... dreams is weird sh*t.... lets not continue on that one because that scenario kinda goes off on many tangents.

I've been really busy again. I wish I could stop, but as the world turns, so too must I. There's laundry to do by hand (still no washing machine), there's food to prepare and cook, there's dishes to wash, there's a couple of tv programmes to view to relax and of course, there's a radio show to host, courses to attend and squirrels to watch in the garden.
Not to be outdone by anything or anyone, but the news this week, or rather, today is that our kettle has died.
So for boiling water, we must now put a jug of water into the microwave and nuke until hot enough for coffee... (seems to take about 5 minutes on full power...)
Seems I have a thing for killing kettles - this is the fourth one now in almost 7 years. Maybe I should line their dead bodies up and display them like trophies - or maybe I should just get a new kettle... or maybe not. I dunno. I think it's safer nuking the water at the moment - its also freed up a little tiny bit of worktop too that I haven't seen for...ooo... ages.
Seriously, funds are tighter than the BeeGees trousers in winter at the moment and a new water boiling contraption will have to wait until such time as funds are looking somewhat perky. I will accept donations via paypal. Email me on that if you're serious. Please. I mean it...

[update]My mother had a spare kettle (one of three, apparently) so our problem is sorted out for now :-)[/update]

And todays weather is awful. Today it's been snowing on and off all morning. Why oh why is it the weather people always look like they want to collapse into a fit of manic laughter when they're telling us its going to be bad weather? bunch of sickos.. but thats just my opinion. I read cloud formations, watch animals and dress accordingly.
It's MARCH and it's like.. "are we stuck in January?" well.. are we? Spring is only a matter of days away. The birds are chirping, the squirrels are just... adorable and cheeky and looking cuter than ever and certainly.. getting closer...
so-what-do-you-have
"Can I have a nut this big next time please?"

So anyway, coming up over the next few weeks on Audio Coffee:

26th March: Lantern Procession Radio show special (procession is actually on the 25th, the night we in the UK/Europe put the clocks FORWARD ONE HOUR)

2nd April: HOLIDAY!!! heck, I think I've deserved the break! :-) (Hartlepool again, and no, it's not bad.. it's quite lovely actually!)

9th April: Show as usual...

In the planning:

A cookery show (why? I dunno..)
More outside broadcast stuff
More Coffee Cup Challenges

Right now, I need some R&R. Next update will appear when I'm not so busy!
