1 year old....!!!!!!!

Finally!
Although, I have to admit, it'll probably be a somewhat subdued event due to my cold turning into something rather nasty and unpleasant. I've got myself an appointment at the doctors, it's having the energy to walk there thats going to be the real test.
Well, in a news packed week:

Bob Moog passed away.. what a sad loss.. the creative genius who gave the world the earliest synths....

My art tutor appeared on local tv last night because he survived the Manchester Air disaster in 1985... *link*

Jean Michel Jarre's birthday is tomorrow (24th August) and he's doing a concert in Gdansk this coming Friday *link*

It's 2 years this weekend since C J Wray came to live here

and it's.. well.. Audio Coffees first birthday!!!

Can't promise anything..might have a few surprises lined up, depends if my health improves between now and weekend. I'm currently running a slight temperature which doesn't make things easy.

*SEPTEMBERS COFFEE CUP CHALLENGE*

Ok, lets get this over with before this slight fever has me good and proper!
Septembers challenge is simple... Steel drums.. in any way you like!!!!!!!!
There, I can go and have a lie down now until Sunday.

Pre-birthday show Birthday show

Hardly seems like it's been a year since Audio Coffee first went out... plans are being made as we speak, promos are being cleverly put together and.. this cold.. this rotten stinking cold is easing *a little*.

Finally managed to bag myself a 6-in-1 card reader for the assortment of media cards here, sd, multimedia, compactflash... one doesn't intentionally collect those cards, it just happens! Still, they're tiny enough to be slightly less of a distraction than the eternal hdd system I was thinking of getting but didn't because I'd probably end up tripping up over it or something. Now, I can put away (for now anyhow) the 4mb alternative I'd been using since... er.. well, for too long!!
On one of the cards are some photographs I havent seen yet. These were taken on my really old camera, so old, XP won't entertain the drivers in any way shape or form, so, thats going to be good finally being able to see the fruits of my labour after 12 months of photography on a camera where the largest pic is now regarded as being really very poor indeed (but ideal for working in flash).
Ah yes, the card reader is going to be the best thing to happen to my computer for some considerable time.

I've also taken to playing with Linux (knoppix) a little. No real reason why, just am. I guess my curious side got the better of me. Normally I shy away from a lot of Operating Systems away from Windows, but yes, I think I could get to like Linux for some odd reason. I'd have to put it onto a formatted hdd on a fairly oldish computer to see if I like it more. Currently, everything is operated from cd after booting the pc up to cd. Committing Linux to hdd at some point would mean that it would run a heck of a lot smoother for starters.
It runs fairly smoothly on my 5 year old PC, but I suppose, like I said, it would run 100 times better off a hdd somewhere.
I could dual boot off my pc, but.. I only have a 20gb hdd and it soon gets full and it wouldn't be fair on either OS.

Ah yes, Sundays show... hmm... well... I think you're all going to have to wait and see what happens. I like to surprise people, including myself!
Lets hope the throat holds out and the main body of this cold just ups and quietly leaves! That said, I always seem to develop a bad chest after a cold, so don't hold your breath because I for one can't hold mine!!

If you're wanting to broadcast this show of mine at all, don't hesistate in doing so, just leave a message on this post (you MUST now log in to leave messages, thanks to some moronic spammer) stating who you are, where you are and what time you're rebroadcasting.
(Isn't it lucky I have all my archives from the last 12 months up on my ampcast page?)
Right, enough said! See you all for Sundays show.

Ah yeah.. I'll be offering whats left of this cold as a prize on the show this week.

Uhm... yet another slight change to the show this week...

This Sundays show is going to be the ever snuffly "Guess who went on holiday and all I got was this LOUSY cold?!" show.
Thats right, you read it here FIRST.
Woke up this morning after successfully avoiding a cold for the last 18 months or so and yup... the cold germs finally fought their way through. I don't exactly feel like crap - YET, but there's every chance I could do by Sunday... so do PLEASE bear with me as Audio Coffee splutters, sniffs, coughs and sneezes through a spectabular 2 hour show this Sunday - unless of course, the cold germs decide otherwise.

Whats needed is not great amounts of vitamin c (like anything, overdosing is BAD), but the ol' favourite jalapeno chillies and maybe at some point, chicken soup.
The throat is sore and I'm feeling like I've not had anything at all to drink - which is a really big pain in the throat.
So there's no prizes on offer as to how the show pads out on Sunday.. or fills up with... snot... erm... yeah.. too much information there... it's going to be one of those 'wait and see' events....

Right now, I'm cursing the fact that I COULD'VE pre-recorded a LOT of stuff for Sundays show, but then again, do you ever know you've got a cold until you've got one? Personally, I never had the warnings.. I just woke up with it, so I couldn't preempt NOTHING... For now, it's plenty of tissues for the ever flowing river of... well, I'll leave it there, you've got imaginations?

/thinks of flowing rivers of bright green.......
//shuts up

By the way... would the spammer who posted comments here on two ocassions please now just f*ck off? I don't need your advertising in MY COMMENTS any more than I would welcome someone constantly silent-farting in my face all the time.
Its not wanted, it's not welcome and it's the VERY reason why a lot of people refuse to use the internet. Your spam fills countless inboxes and accounts for over 60% of all emails because you're all too damned stupid to be genuine, using fake email addresses and the likes, tricking unwitting victims who click on any link they see because you know that not everyone knows not to click on a link. Thankfully, there are tools to track IP adresses, and you, dear spammer.. are just another blocked IP in my address list (good thing I have comments replies sent to my inbox...)
Oh - and as for the phone number... excpect a call soon... not from me no.. but from a telecoms company who would like to speak to you about the fact that your service charges $$$ by the minute for a fraudulent service. Ok? did you get that spammer? I know you didn't read all my postings because you just wanted to spam...
Well.. for now, unless you have an account here, you can't post. Sorry people, but while there is a moron out there, you'll need an account to post.

Post-Holiday Christmas show

has been put on ice......

Although, I bet it got your attention, right? thought so, thats why I decided against it. Besides, there's better stuff out there that deserves the airplay!
So, there I was, Tuesday night... after arriving home earlier that day from my weekend jaunt to Hartlepool (for the uninitiated, it's pronounced 'art - li - pool')where a jolly good weekend was had by all. Except me, because, this damned non-shifting knee problem still means I'm rubbish at stairs and we were.. upstairs... I'll shut up there because the rest of the weekend was fab!

We did too much of everything - except drinking alcohol.. which I didn't mind anyway.
Plenty of good walks were taken along the sea front and we went from Hartlepool Marina all the way to Seaton Carew - a blindingly gorgeous walk on a good day when the tide is out and the sun is high... which is why we picked a windy, cloudy day when the tide was in... again, I'll shut up there, I enjoyed the walk!

We ate well and ate loads... too much to mention here, but it was all good. I'm going to dread standing on the scales to find out how much I've put on over the weekend and, if I managed to walk any of it off.

So anyway, forward to this Sundays show. Nothing specific planned at the moment, but its going to be another case of 'wait and see'. Better that way, I like to surprise.......

The Audio Coffee Challenge is shaping up nicely. I've had a couple of enquiries and I felt I should clear a couple of things up.
For this months challenge, it's 'three notes next to each other' to form the main tune - the rest is up to you, just avoid rap, heavy metal and that sort of stuff...
This means you can use pitchbend/ribbon controller/theramin setting - that sort of thing - this applies for ALL the challenges...

Some Interesting Statistics

TRACK LISTENS/PLAYS TOTAL

Big Wide Something 132
Blowing Bubbles 1400
Bombay Mix 881
FuTuReSkYpE 340
Lou and Andy (Shoplifting megamix) 18400
My Name Is Not Jean Michel Jarre 364

As for the ambient stuff, well, it's only a recent thing and it would be most unfair to publish the listen/plays total on those until they've been there a few more months.

Hmm.. I think I get the idea now on whats the most popular stuff.... and it just so happens to be the 'Little Britain' stuff....

Well, anyway, now thats been published, I think I can safely go on holiday and get my feet up for a bit of a break or something... or knowing me, probably not... damn, if there's one thing, I can't relax on holidays... there's something about them that makes me even busier than ever.........
ah yeah.. it's all the walking we generally do.. good thing it's all walking (ok, I lie, we get the bus too) I'm still on the injured list (yes, the knee prob I've had for months) and my only nemesis at this moment, are the stairs at the future in-laws place..............................................eek?!

can I possibly borrow someones stair lift please?
aww... go on...
just for a couple of days, nothing more
*big sad eye look*
go on.. I know you want to...
